Oserian’s story is one that encompasses a passion for beauty and peace. This translates into a love for flowers, the African people and a compelling action to conserve nature’s riches which are Kenya’s heritage.
Oserian’s vision was conceived by the Zwager family and has become part of the philosophy and culture of its own people. Oserian was started as a vegetable farm by Hans and June Zwager, in the late 60s, producing French beans and asparagus.
Flower farming was introduced to Oserian in 1982 when they planted their first crop of statice.Today Oserian is one of the largest and most successful floriculture projects in the world. Under Peter Zwager, who is now the Chairman of the Mavuno Investment Group, Oserian has pioneered technology and evolved to encompass eco-friendly systems and processes to increase productivity and quality in a sustainable manner.
Oserian pioneered flower farming in East Africa and played a significant role in creating the global markets as we know them today.
